Revised fall break schedule announced
The Faculty Council and Chancellor’s Cabinet recently approved revised dates for the fall 2023 break, which will now take place Monday, Oct. 23, and Tuesday, Oct. 24. The full schedule for fall 2023 is available on the Registrar’s Office website.

Annual tree planting held as part of Earth Month
UNC Charlotte loses an average of three football fields of trees per day, through storm damage, disease or construction.
Trees are important to the environment and absorb greenhouse gasses, help improve mental health, house wildlife and cool urban areas in addition to making the campus and city look better.

Faculty, staff and students were asked about their favorite areas around campus. UNC Charlotte may be the state’s urban research university, but there are many beautifully maintained green spaces, gardens, ponds and greenways to admire. Here’s what some employees had to say:

HR Announces 2023 Staff Employee of the Year Recipients
Five individuals are this year’s Staff Employee of the Year as announced by the Human Resources Office Staff Awards and Recognition Program.
Registration open for the Productivity/Efficiency Track of the Webinar Series for Charlotte Employees
The four Wednesday courses in the Productivity/Efficiency track of the Webinar Series for Charlotte Employees focuses on becoming more productive and planning your time. Each webinar is free, interactive and runs from 12 to 1 p.m. All sessions will be recorded and available to registered participants. Bonus content will be emailed after each webinar to help participants continue their professional development journeys.
Rayburn needs shared leave
Isabel Rayburn, housing and residence life, needs shared leave donations. The Benefits Office will accept donations through April 24.
To contribute leave, faculty and staff should refer to the requirements in Personnel Information Memorandum (PIM) 29 or complete the online Voluntary Shared Leave Donation Form from the HR Benefits Forms website.
