Register for the Be An Effective (and Awesome) Team Member Webinar for Charlotte Employees
“Be an Effective (and Awesome) Team Member,” part of the virtual 2024 Webinar Series for Charlotte Employees, is scheduled for noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 10. This webinar is designed to highlight the key characteristics of exemplary team members and by making subtle changes, participants can adopt these behaviors to become a more valuable collaborator.
The future of a neurodiverse workforce
The University Career Center’s Disability at Work Series is underway through April 11 with programming centered on professional development and rights in the workplace.
This year’s theme is “The future of a neurodiverse workforce,” and weekly virtual meetups addressing the theme began March 14 and focused on “What is neurodiversity?”

Brown stepping down as AVC for finance
Anne Brown, associate vice chancellor for finance, has announced her intention to step down, effective March 31.
“Anne has led Charlotte’s financial services team with dedication and integrity,” said Rich Amon, vice chancellor for business affairs. “She has been a great asset not only to business affairs, but to the entire campus.
Brown has served as associate vice chancellor for finance since 2017, overseeing the controller’s office, treasury services, materials management and, through June 30, 2021, the budget office.
Charlotte Core seeks faculty reviewers
Charlotte Core, in the Office of Undergraduate Education, is recruiting faculty reviewers to rate student work aligned with the new general education requirements.
Reviewers are needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., May 22-23, for critical thinking competency and on May 29-30 for communications competency. A stipend is being offered for reviewers’ participation across the two days.
Johnson needs shared leave
Darlene Johnson, Building Environmental Services, needs shared leave donations. The Benefits Office will accept donations through March 25.

Deadline for AV integration project requests
The deadline for submitting requests for new audiovisual projects funded in fiscal year 2024 is Friday, March 22. To ensure consideration for completion using this fiscal year’s funds, submit all requests by the deadline.
Teresa Petty appointed associate provost for undergraduate education and dean of University College
Teresa Petty has been appointed associate provost for undergraduate education and dean of University College, effective July 1. She currently serves as senior associate dean in the Cato College of Education and professor in the college’s Department of Middle, Secondary and K-12 Education.
José Gámez appointed dean of the College of Arts + Architecture
José Gámez has been appointed dean of the College of Arts + Architecture, effective July 1. He currently serves as interim dean of the college.
