Retired faculty/staff members toured local winery

Members of the UNC Charlotte Retired Faculty and Professional Staff Association recently gathered for lunch, tour and wine tasting at Morgan Ridge Vineyard, located in Gold Hill.

The association organizes three to four events a year; the group participated in a tour of the PORTAL Building recently, too.

The mission of the UNC Charlotte Retired Faculty and Profesusional Staff Association is to provide a way for interested retired faculty and professional staff to continue their relationship with the University.

U.S. representative visits EPIC to discuss energy

Congressman Richard Hudson, UNC Charlotte alumnus (Class of 1996) and former student body president, met with members of the EPIC Advisory Board April 17 to talk about energy issues and his work on the U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee. He also had the opportunity to gather members’ input and feedback on issues and challenges in the energy sector.

UNC Charlotte successfully concluded its Niner Nation Gives campaign earlier today, and campus leaders were pleased with the inaugural day of giving.

Niner Nation Gives, a day to celebrate UNC Charlotte

Niner Nation Gives, a worldwide celebration of UNC Charlotte, will be Thursday, April 9.

For 24 hours, starting at 8 a.m. on April 9, members of the Niner Nation will have the opportunity to give back to UNC Charlotte.

Session to provide introduction to capital campaigns

The Division for University Advancement will host an introduction to campaigns session from 8 to 9 a.m., Friday, April 24, in the Student Union, Multipurpose Room.

‘Give Green in the Community’ during National Volunteer Week

Faculty and staff members can continue “Giving Green in the Community” by participating in a number of projects planned for National Volunteer Week, April 13-18. These projects, coordinated by the Community Relations Department in the Division for University Advancement, involve two- to four-hour commitments in the morning or afternoon.

Big Ideas, Big Future

During the reception at UNC Charlotte Center City, members of the UNC Board of Governors viewed a special video that outlined how the University has grown exponentially, driven by a Big Idea—to provide access to opportunity and intellectual capital that have helped to build one of America’s most vibrant regions.

Next generation Inside UNC Charlotte website to launch Friday

Inside UNC Charlotte, the online campus news/information resource for UNC Charlotte employees, is getting a new look, and the redesigned site launches Friday, Jan. 30. It was a collaborative effort by units within University communications, based upon feedback and suggestions from users across campus.
