UNC Charlotte opens registration for Rise to LEADership Certificate Program

Charlotte is offering an opportunity to grow current employees into future leaders through its new Rise to LEADership Certificate Program. The cohort‑based professional development series, led by the learning and organizational development team, invites employees who want to learn foundational leadership skills and grow as peer leaders on campus.

Registration for the spring 2026 cohort is open.

What will I learn in Rise to LEADership?

The curriculum focuses on five core pillars: professionalism, peer leadership (leading without authority), strategic thinking, accountability and the logistics of positioning a leadership career. Participants will gain tools and the visibility needed to transition into leadership roles and make a lasting impact.

The cohort model also provides an opportunity for aspiring leaders across campus to network and build community with peers who share similar career goals.

Who can attend Rise to LEADership?

Rise to LEADership is open to any University employee who aspires to leadership or wants to strengthen their peer leadership abilities. Admission is application‑based and limited to 25 participants per cohort to ensure a high‑engagement learning environment. The program has no prerequisites; applicants are not required to supervise others or hold a specific job title.

How do you earn a certificate?

Participants must attend at least four of the five in‑person sessions. All sessions are held on UNC Charlotte’s main campus.
