UNC President Margaret Spellings, during a visit to campus Monday and Tuesday, touted Charlotte as a great place to invest and get an education.

On Monday, Spellings visited the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis, had lunch with the chancellor’s executive team and toured campus – with stops at EPIC and the Data Visualization Center.

“New, state-of-the-art buildings (like EPIC and the planned science building) will be attractive to STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) employers. We owe it to students to give them the best possible preparation for entering the workforce,” she stated.

On Tuesday, Spellings was a guest on WFAE radio’s Charlotte Talks show (listen to a recorded version). She also met with the Staff Council, Faculty Council executive committee and dined with students.
