Record Finish in Directors’ Cup
Powered by postseason participation in men’s soccer, women’s indoor and outdoor track and field, softball and men’s tennis, the Charlotte 49ers posted their highest-ever finish in the 31-year history of the Learfield Directors’ Cup for the 2023-24 season.

- Legislative Update July 2024: The NC General Assembly adjourned its “Short Session” on Friday, June 28, without passing adjustments to the biennium budget covering FY24 and FY25, which was passed last year.
- Participants of the NCFlex Accident and Critical Illness plans, administered by Voya, are eligible for a wellness benefit. This benefit is payable once per year, per covered person for completing an eligible health screening test.
- The Department of Languages and Culture Studies, within the College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences, is changing its name to the Department of Languages, Cultures and Translation.
- Larry Mellinger has been named director of University Recreation at UNC Charlotte, effective June 28.
- The new 2024-25 SHRA performance plan/appraisal is now active in NinerTalent. Supervisors may proceed with entering performance plans and should review the new performance planning due dates.
- Register for “Creative Conflict Resolution,” which is part of the virtual 2024 Webinar Series for Charlotte Employees, scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10.
- The Center for Wellness Promotion is hosting a virtual Green Dot Training from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 24. Attend the training to learn how to recognize, react to and prevent sexual assault, dating violence and stalking. Registration is required through the learning and development portal; login and search for “Green Dot.”
