Applications open for fall 2026 LEADing What’s Next Certificate cohort
Ready to elevate your leadership impact?
UNC Charlotte’s Office of Human Resources is now accepting applications for the fall 2026 LEADing What’s Next cohort, a certificate program designed for supervisors and managers who want to strengthen their leadership skills and advance their careers.
Courses begin Thursday, Sept. 24, and all sessions will be held in person on UNC Charlotte’s main campus. Participants must complete five of seven offered courses to earn the certificate.
Certificate Courses
- Delegate to Elevate — Learn how to delegate with clarity, trust and accountability. This course helps leaders identify the right tasks, select the right people and support successful outcomes.
- Strategic Communication for Leaders — Based on Kim Scott’s “Radical Candor,” this course teaches leaders how to deliver direct, honest and kind feedback while building stronger working relationships.
- Meeting Mastery: Running Productive and Effective Meetings — Strengthen your ability to plan, lead and facilitate meetings that drive results. Learn agenda design, time management, decision‑making strategies and technology tools that boost productivity.
- Resolving Conflict: Building Relationships for Managers — Explore negotiation, mediation and early‑intervention strategies to address conflict constructively and maintain healthy team dynamics.
- Building a Culture of Accountability — Gain tools for navigating difficult conversations, addressing performance issues and applying Charlotte’s progressive discipline process fairly and consistently.
- Future-Focused Leadership — Learn the fundamentals of strategic and continuity planning, including how to assess your department’s needs, set goals and align plans with the University’s mission and 10‑year strategic plan.
- Leading Well-being — Build emotional intelligence, manage stress and foster a positive work environment. Practice real‑world scenarios that strengthen empathy and support high‑performing teams.
