TEDxUNCCharlotte 2020 speakers to address ‘Thinking Future. Thinking Forward’

In its second year, TEDxUNCCharlotte will host 14 speakers during the University’s independently organized TEDx event on Friday, March 27. Live talks will center on the theme, “Thinking Future. Thinking Forward.”

The Charlotte 49ers have three players competing in this week’s 95th annual East-West Shrine Bowl, which will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, in St. Petersburg, Florida. NFL Network will televise the event, which is the longest-running college all-star football game in the nation and gives top college players a chance to showcase their talents to NFL scouts and a national television audience.

Atkins Library book club to explore diversity/inclusion

The Atkins Library Diversity & Inclusion Committee is sponsoring a University-wide book club that will focus on diversity and cultural topics to spark conversations around inclusivity, equity and awareness of human differences in today’s society.The club, created at the recommendation of the provost, is open to all faculty, staff and students. Ryan Harris, head of research and instructional services, will facilitate the first discussion, scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30, in the library’s Halton Reading Room.
