Wind Ensemble to perform
The UNC Charlotte Wind Ensemble will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 25, in the Belk Theater of Robinson Hall.The ensemble, under the direction of Shawn Smith, will present a program that includes “Process of Nobles,” “Only Light, Only Love” and “The Bicycle Shop” and other selections.Tickets are $8. University Chorale to present holiday concert
The University Chorale will perform a holiday concert on Monday, Dec. 2, under the direction of guest conductor Ginger Wyrick. The program features selections from Handel’s “Messiah” including the ever-popular “Hallelujah” chorus.
Honors College event aims to destigmatize failure
The Honors College is hosting its inaugural “Failure Showcase” from 3 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the Cone University Center, McKnight Hall.This event is designed to destigmatize failure and empower students to grow. According to organizers, discussing failure in an open and acceptable manner demonstrates to students that failure is a necessary part of success.

Scholarship to honor trailblazing professor
Theresa Perez, professor emerita, Department of Middle, Secondary and K-12 Education, lived her life as a champion for social justice. At UNC Charlotte, Perez displayed a spirit that nurtured and developed the Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) program. She knew it would be an important factor in improving the lives of immigrant families in the community.
