49ers Racing speeds to top 10 finish in international competition
UNC Charlotte’s Formula SAE team, 49ers Racing, returned this weekend from the SAE International Collegiate competition at Michigan International Speedway, where they placed in the top 10. Competing against 119 other teams from across the globe, 49ers Racing earned impressive rankings in multiple events, including second in fuel economy, third in endurance and ninth overall.
Architecture professor’s new book explores postmodernism
Lidia Klein, assistant professor of architectural history, had had her book, “Political Postmodernisms: Architecture in Chile and Poland, 1970–1990,” published by Routledge. The work argues for a redefinition of postmodern architecture.
Risk Management and Insurance program claims top 20 spot in survey ranking
The Belk College of Business Risk Management and Insurance program was ranked No. 11 in the 2022 AM Best Review Survey of the best undergraduate RMI programs. AM Best is a global accrediting agency, news publisher and data analytics provider specializing in the insurance industry.

14th class of Levine Scholars to join UNC Charlotte
UNC Charlotte’s Levine Scholars Program has selected 20 exceptional young leaders from across the United States for the 14th class of the University’s most competitive academic scholarships. The scholars will join UNC Charlotte in fall 2023.
Congratulations, Charlotte graduates!
UNC Charlotte conferred more than 5,300 undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees and graduate certificates during spring commencement ceremonies held in Dale F. Halton Arena on Friday, May 12, and Saturday, May 13. Graduates varied in age from 19 to 74 and represented 53 countries and 43 U.S. states.

This spring, this is the case for Kim Harris ’19, an associate professor of mathematics education in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, who will retire from Charlotte at the end of the academic year after 39 years.
