Clare Short to serve as first women’s lacrosse head coach

Clare Short has been named the first head coach to lead the new Charlotte 49ers women’s lacrosse program. Short brings more than 10 years of experience, including the last six seasons as head coach at Queens University of Charlotte, multiple trips to the NCAA Division II Final Four and numerous regular season and tournament conference championships to the 49ers.

Reconstructed dance to be performed in NYC

“Tracer,” a work by modern dance icon Paul Taylor was reconstructed at UNC Charlotte in 2016, will be performed by the Paul Taylor Dance Company in its upcoming Joyce Theater season at the famed New York City theater on June 15, 17 and 18.

UNC Charlotte recycles nearly 300 laptops a year, and the University’s OneIT team looked for an organization to partner to get these computers to local families in need. As a result, these laptops are being refurbished and re-imaged by high school students and are redistributed to families in Mecklenburg County, thanks to E2D, a Charlotte-based nonprofit organization.

The Charlotte 49ers Athletics Department has announced its EverGreen Athletics Facilities Master Vision, which will integrate into UNC Charlotte’s overall campus master plan that is being updated. EverGreen includes substantial upgrades to existing facilities as well as the construction of new spaces to enhance the overall development of its entire program.
