Quarterback on watch list for best player in college football
Charlotte 49ers redshirt junior quarterback Chris Reynolds has been named to the watch list for the 2020 Maxwell Award, which is presented annually to the Most Outstanding Player in College Football. He is the first 49ers player in school history to be named to this prestigious award’s watch list.
Defensive end named to Wuerffel Trophy watch list
Charlotte 49ers’ graduate defensive end Tyriq Harris ’19 has been named to the 2020 Wuerffel Trophy watch list. The Wuerffel Trophy is presented by the Chick-fil-A Foundation to the college football player who best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement.

Fisher named to Outland Trophy watch list
Charlotte 49ers redshirt senior center Jaelin Fisher is on the 2020 Outland Trophy preseason watch list, recognizing 85 standout interior linemen representing all 10 Division I FBS conferences and independents. This is the 75th anniversary season for the Outland Trophy, and the watch list presents a diverse field of players to accompany the return of 2019 Outland Trophy winner, offensive tackle Penei Sewell of Oregon.
Professor keynotes theatre education conference
Assistant Professor of Theatre Kaja Dunn delivered the keynote address at the Emergency Conference on Undergraduate Theater Education presented virtually by George Mason University. The recent conference was organized in response to the challenges to teaching and performing that are the result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dunn’s lecture addressed “Teaching in Trauma.”
