Carl Mahler, executive director of the University’s Office of Technology Transfer, will present “Basics of Intellectual Property” at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29, in Cameron Applied Research Center, Room 154.
Mahler has headed the office since 2007. Prior to UNC Charlotte, he worked in technology transfer offices at Case Western Reserve and Carnegie Mellon University.
In this talk, part of the Lee College of Engineering Industrial and Technology Management Seminars, Mahler will provide an overview of intellectual property (IP) types, the legal requirements for obtaining and maintaining IP protection and recent legal developments in IP.
