February marks UNC Charlotte’s annual benefit performance of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues,” scheduled for 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, through Saturday, Feb. 9, in the Cone University Center, McKnight Hall. UNC Charlotte students will present the monologues.

This performance is part of V-Day, events designed to increase awareness of anti-violence organizations and to raise money benefiting such organizations.

Tickets are $10, with proceeds going to Safe Alliance (formerly United Family Services) Domestic Violence Shelter.

Also part of V-Day is the dance event “One Billion Rising” set for 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, in Cone University Center, Room 112. University alumna and former Gold Duster Ana Ogbueze will lead this dance class to encourage participants to “stand, dance and rise against violent acts against women.” Registration is free.
