Educator, author Marcia Tate to speak

An evening with national award-winning educator and author Marcia Tate is scheduled for 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 25, in the Cone University Center, McKnight Hall.

Tate, former executive director of professional development for the DeKalb County School System, is the author of “Worksheets Don’t Grow Dendrites: 20 Instructional Strategies that Engage the Brain.” During Tate’s 30-year career, she has been a classroom teacher, language arts coordinator and staff development executive director. She received Georgia’s Distinguished Staff Development Award, and her department was given the Exemplary Program Award.

The College of Education, Teaching Fellows Program, Kappa Delta Honor Society and First 3 Beginning Teacher Support Program are cosponsoring this event. A book signing will follow the presentation.
