UNC Charlotte Magazine earns national Platinum MarCom Award

­UNC Charlotte Magazine recently received a 2012 Platinum MarCom Award in the category of educational publications.

SPARK Publications, the creative firm that designs the magazine, nominated UNC Charlotte Magazine for the honor. More than 6,000 projects from the United States and Canada were submitted for the award in 2012 and only 18 percent received Platinum Awards. 

“UNC Charlotte Magazine is an outstanding publication with timely, organized content and an open, colorful, clean design,” said Fabi Preslar, president of SPARK Publications. “We are delighted the magazine was among those singled out for this prestigious award.”

John Bland, UNC Charlotte director of publications, said, it was a terrific kudo for the UNC Charlotte Magazine to be recognized nationally. “A number of our readers have contacted us over the past three years to note the magazine’s improvements in content, design and strategy. Our teammates at SPARK Publications are great partners in the production of the UNC Charlotte Magazine.”

MarCom Awards are a creative competition for individuals or companies involved in the concept, writing and design of print, visual, audio and web materials and programs. The mission of the MarCom Awards is to honor excellence and recognize the creativity, hard work and generosity of marketing and communications professionals.
