UNC Charlotte will host this year’s American Cancer Society Relay for Life on Friday and Saturday, April 5-6, at the Belk Track and Field Complex. Teams are forming for this annual fundraiser, where communities come together to honor cancer survivors and remember loved ones lost.
Opening ceremonies will begin at 6 p.m. Registration is $10 per person, free for cancer survivors.
During the 12-hour event, relay teams camp out and take turns walking around the track. Because cancer never sleeps, organizers ask each team to have at least one participant on the track at all times.
Donations raised during Relay for Life events support research programs in local communities and across the country.
