The Department of Facilities Management’s Housekeeping Division is now Building Environmental Services.
According to Brian Guns, director of Building Environmental Services, the change more accurately describes the services provided.
“Building Environmental Services (BES) proudly works to keep UNC Charlotte clean and create a campus of distinction”, said Guns. “Maintaining all of the University’s academic and administrative buildings is no small task; there are more than 140 BES technicians, covering three shifts, offering 24/7 coverage in some buildings. Environmentally friendly cleaning agents are used where possible; technicians also assist with recycling endeavors.”
