Academic services to hold book drive

The Office of Academic Services will conduct a book drive to benefit Promising Pages Monday, March 25, through Friday, March 29.

Promising Pages is a local nonprofit agency that works to increase literacy among youth. According to academic services officials, the book drive will help children who do not have access to age-appropriate material in their home or who lack access to a variety of reading materials.

Gently used or new books for ages up to young adults will be collected; contributions will be cleaned and wrapped as gifts to be given to children in homeless shelters and local schools. The goal is to collect 600 books. Donations can be delivered to:

  • Academic Services- Cato Hall, Room 240
  • Office of Disability Services- Fretwell Building, Room 230
  • University Career Center- Atkins Library, Room 150
  • Athletic Academics Department
  • Honors College- Cone University Center, Room 369A
  • University Center for Academic Excellence- Fretwell Building, Room 330
  • Multicultural Academic Services- Fretwell Building, Room 318B
