Charlotte 49ers to begin spring practice March 18

Friday, March 15, 2013

Charlotte 49ers head football coach Brad Lambert will begin the 49ers first official spring practice season Monday, March 18.  It will conclude with the 49ers first spring game, set for 1 p.m., Saturday, April 20.

“We’re excited to get back out on the field,” said Lambert.  “We’ll continue to install our offense and defense and kicking games.  We’ll take the next step in progressing towards the fall season.  We’re looking forward to getting set for our spring game on April 20.”

The 49ers will begin play in 2013 as a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) independent; the team will move to the Football Bowl Subdivision’s (FBS) Conference USA in 2015 and become a full FBS member with bowl eligibility in 2016.

The Charlotte 49ers will hold spring scrimmages at practice fields and in the University’s 15,300-seat stadium, which was completed this past fall.
