Speakers from Canada, Israel to conclude International Speaker Series

Stephen Brereton and Eli Groner will deliver the final presentations in the fifth annual International Speaker Series. The talks will be at 3:30 p.m., April 3 and 11, respectively, in Atkins Library, Halton Reading Room.

Brereton, consul general of Canada, will speak on the relationship between the United States and Canada. A career diplomat with a background in international trade policy, Brereton has held posts at the Canadian Mission to the European Union based in Brussels as well as at the Canadian embassies in Tokyo, Japan and Cuba, prior to his current role at the Consulate General of Canada in Atlanta.

Groner, Israel’s minister of economic affairs to the United States, will speak about the relationship between the United States and Israel. Based out of Washington, D.C.,  Groner began his career as a journalist for the Jerusalem Post before he moved into private equity and management consulting for corporations in Israel and around the world.

The Office of International Programs; Atkins Library; the Department of Global, International, and Area Studies; and the World Affairs Council of Charlotte; present the International Speaker Series. The two upcoming presentations are  free and open to the campus community.
