‘Joe Bonham Project’ artists to speak

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

The Department of Communication Studies will sponsor a panel discussion featuring four artists from the “Joe Bonham Project” at 12:30 p.m., Monday, April 22, in the Rowe Arts Building Recital Hall.

The project, exhibited on campus this past summer, features drawings and paintings of U.S. service members wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. Rob Bates, an undergraduate illustration student in the Department of Art and Art History, will be among the panelists. Bates recently was named the 2013 recipient of the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation’s Col. John Thomason Jr. Award for combat artwork reflective of his service and his work on the project.
