Education faculty receive annual awards

Members of the College of Education faculty recently were recognized for outstanding achievement in teaching, research, diversity and community engagement during an annual celebration. 

This year’s award recipients were Kelly Anderson, Department of Special Education and Child Development, Teaching Fellows Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching; Paul Fitchett and Tina Heafner, Department of Middle, Secondary and K-12 Education, along with co-author Rich Lambert, Department of Educational Leadership, for excellence in research, recognizing the outstanding data-based article in education published within the last year;   Marvin Chapman, Department of Reading and Elementary Education, for Sustained Service to Public Schools; Stephen Hancock, Department of Reading and Elementary Education, Outstanding Contributions to Diversity; and Lan Kolano, Department of Middle, Secondary and K12 Education, for Excellence in Teaching.
