ROCKIN' the Rotunda to feature Square Roots Duo

Wednesday, July 3, 2013

The “Rockin’ the Rotunda” lunchtime acoustic series continues Wednesday, July 10, with the sounds of Square Roots Duo. The performance is set for noon in the Student Union Rotunda.

According to the band’s website, “Square Roots music was, and will always be....about the songs. Putting together a group of people who play well together, and know that music is about the music, not about egos. We write what we know, what we lived or what we are living....Music is a solace, an escape and a fortress.”

Formed in fall 2004, Square Roots Duo is comprised of musicans who are known for blending electric guitars with acoustic, organic bass tones and an added funk flavor; keyboards; various forms of hand percussion; and harmony vocals.

“We want to create a fun social environment for our summer students here in the Student Union,” said Assistant Director of Student Activities James Contratto. “With the Rockin’ the Rotunda series, summer students can hang out, relax and eat lunch between classes while listening to some live acoustic music.”

“ROCKIN The Rotunda” continues student activities’ tradition of providing live music on-campus for students, faculty and staff.
