When the campus shuttle resumes service for the fall semester, it will deploy a transport tracking system so users will be able to utilize a smart phone or Web application to know when the next bus will arrive.
NextRide will provide real-time transit feed for CATS campus shuttle buses and SafeRide. The application, for use on the Web or as a mobile app, can provide a map with arrival predictions, schedules and service alerts. Plans are in the works to add alerts through text messaging to show arrival times for buses and to allow users to send a SMS text to request information.
