Second Learning and Development Summit scheduled

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

On Friday, Oct. 4, UNC Charlotte’s Extended Academic Programs Office will hold its second annual Learning and Development Summit: Leading a Learning Organization. The event is set for 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Cone University Center, Lucas Room.

According to extended academic program officials, learning and development strategies that have worked in the past may no longer be as effective. With the right practices, any learning program can accelerate performance while delivering economic benefits.

This one-day summit will address some of the most pressing issues in learning and development, including the latest trends in online delivery methods and employee engagement, as well as cutting-edge practices to generate “buy-in” from top leaders. Attendees will learn best practices to link their learning initiatives to their organization’s core business objectives and how to cultivate top executives with innovative learning ideas.

Summit speakers will include learning and development industry professionals from Belk Inc., Electrolux, Premier Inc., Siemens, United Rentals and more.

The HR Certification Institute has pre-approved 5.5 recertification general credit hours for certified HR professionals who attend the summit.
