Vigil to remember those lost to and suffering from substance abuse

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

The Center for Wellness Promotion will host its third annual Narcotics Overdose Prevention and Education (N.O.P.E.) Vigil to remember individuals who were lost to or suffering from substance abuse. The event will be from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 25, in the Student Union Rotunda.

Through the vigil, the center seeks to raise awareness and open the doors to recovery by eliminating the prejudice and stigmas associated with addiction. This year, the vigil will include a speaker discussing the personal impact of substance abuse, a performance by the Voices of Eden Gospel Choir and a candle lighting ceremony on the Union steps.
