Oct. 1 Student Job and Internship Fair to offer 1,800-plus opportunities
Roughly 130 employers are expected to participate in the Student Job and Internship Fair, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1, in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center. More than 1,800 jobs and internship opportunities will be available at the event, according to fair organizers.
Sponsored by the University Career Center, the fair was renamed this year to focus on internships, co-ops, and student jobs (part-time, full-time, and temporary jobs that don’t require a degree). These types of opportunities allow students to build their resume through career-relevant experience, gain financial support, and explore potential career paths.
Event sponsors are Jacobsen, Mattamy Homes, Unimin and Vannoy Construction. Other prospective employers include Autism Charlotte, Bank of America, Bosch Rexroth, Carolinas HealthCare, Coca-Cola, Greater Media Charlotte, IKEA, the JET Program, Kohl’s, MetLife, TIAA-CREF, the U.S. National Whitewater Center and many others.
Students should bring copies of their resume and be prepared to complete job applications; some employers will even conduct interviews during the event. Business casual or professional attire is highly recommended.
