World religions take various approaches to answer the question “Is There Life after Death?” Representatives from the Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths will share their perspectives on the afterlife in a panel discussion at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 19, in the Student Union Theater. The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life is sponsoring this event.
Speakers for the Oct. 19 discussion are:
- John Munro, senior pastor at Calvary Church, who will represent the Christian faith. He has served in pastoral ministry for more than 25 years and has been senior pastor at Calvary Church since 2006.
- Noam Raucher, associate rabbi and religious school educator at Temple Israel, will speak on behalf of the Jewish faith. Raucher joined Temple Israel in 2011 after graduating from the American Jewish University.
- Atif Chaudhry, imam of the Islamic Society of Greater Charlotte, will represent the Muslim faith. He has been with the Islamic Society of Greater Charlotte since 2014, where he teaches several classes, focuses on community building and gives lectures on Islamic topics.
Joanne Robinson, associate professor and chair of the Religious Studies Department, will moderate the discussion.
