Career Center to hold fall education fair

The University Career Center will hold an Education Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20, in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center. Organizers expect more than 60 schools and districts to be represented at this event.

Traditionally, the Education Career Fair has been a spring event; this year, the Career Center decided to offer a second fair for the fall. In addition to recruiters from North Carolina school districts, there will be schools from Texas, Virginia, Arizona and South Carolina. Organizations will be seeking teaching candidates in all areas, school counselors, school social workers and school administrators.

Prospective teachers, as well as students and alumni from any major who wish to explore a career in education, are encouraged to attend this free event.

Leading up to the Education Career Fair, the Career Center is sponsoring:

  • Teaching Opportunities for Non-Education Majors Panel at 5 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, Fretwell Building, Room 120
  • A principals panel (hosted by SNCAE) at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov.16, in the College of Health and Human Services, Room 380
