For the third time since 2011, the housekeeping staff of the Housing and Residence Life Department is re-certified to Cleaning Industry Management Standards (CIMS) and CIMS-Green Buildings with honors by the International Sanitary Supply Association, a leading worldwide organization.

CIMS standards assess an entire organization and focus on its management systems and processes used to deliver services to clients, according to the ISSA website.

As part of the certification/re-certification process, ISSA consultants evaluate an organization’s quality of cleaning; service delivery; HR practices for staff management/development; health, safety and environmental stewardship; management commitment; and use of products/practices that are globally sustainable.

Jennifer Hamblin, assistant director for guest operations in housing and residence life, congratulated the HRL housekeeping team for again achieving this international recognition. “I am so proud of our staff for their hard work and especially to Randy Blankenship for his tireless efforts to have the three-day inspection go smoothly. UNC Charlotte housing and residence life was the first organization, and only university in all of North Carolina to achieve this honor back in 2011, and we continue to be one of only about 18 universities in the entire country to achieve this honor.
