January offerings from extended academic programs

Courses and program sessions for January include:

Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification
Online class opens Saturday, Jan. 2
The White Belt program provides a brief overview of three of the most widely used total quality management methodologies in industry today. The first half of the program covers an introduction to the Six Sigma methodology used to improve existing processes or design new processes. The second half of the program is a brief introduction to the methodology called Lean, which provides participants with the general knowledge of the terms used by practitioners in industry today.

Meeting and Event Planning Information Session
6 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6, UNC Charlotte Center City
This free information session will provide individuals with the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the Meeting and Event Planning Certificate program, which is designed for new and aspiring meeting and event managers, travel agents and hoteliers, as well as those considering a career change.

Human Resource/Learning and Development Information Session
6 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 20, UNC Charlotte Center City
This free information session will provide individuals with the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the Human Resource and Learning and Development Certificate programs and individual courses and the PHR/SPHR Certification Exam Preparation course. UNC Charlotte offers courses that meet the needs of those individuals who are new to the HR and training industry, who are seasoned professionals looking for additional training and who are PHR/SPHR/GPHR-certified and trying to earn HRCI and continuing education credit.
