Courses and program sessions for February include:

Introduction to Computer Forensics
Monday, Feb. 1
Online

This course will provide an overview of digital forensics to aid the student in understanding the process of data creation, recovery and analysis and the benefits of that knowledge during a forensic accounting engagement. The course will allow students to gain an understanding of working with investigations related to data forensics, emails, internet/web forensics, mobile devices and networks.

Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification
Monday, Feb. 1
Online

The White Belt program provides a brief overview of three of the most-widely used total quality management methodologies in industry today. The first half of the program covers an introduction to the Six Sigma methodology used to improve existing processes or design new processes. The second half of the program is a brief introduction to the methodology called Lean, which provides participants with the general knowledge of the terms used by practitioners in industry today.

Meeting and Event Planning Certificate Program
8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 5, UNC Charlotte Center City

The Meeting and Event Planning Certificate is comprehensive; every session features interaction among students and faculty. Each module is a different component, resulting in a composite that teaches tactical skills and strategic thinking techniques. The content and instruction help an individual stay on the cutting edge of the profession.

PHR/SPHR Certification Exam Preparation
6 to 9 p.m., Monday, Feb. 15, UNC Charlotte Center City
The PHR/SPHR Certification Exam Preparation course will prepare the human resource professional to sit for either the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) exam. This program runs on Monday nights through April 25.

Principles of Project Management
9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 18

This course is intended as an overview describing the fundamental principles, processes, knowledge areas and tools and techniques of project management and is designed for practical application in the workplace. This two-day foundation course covers the primary topics described by the Project Management Institute in its publication “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge” (fifth edition).

Process Mapping and Analysis
9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, UNC Charlotte Center City

Process mapping is a simple yet powerful method of looking beyond functional activities and rediscovering core processes. Process maps enable one to peel away the complexity of the organizational structure (and internal politics) and focus on the processes that are truly the heart of a business. Properly used, process maps can change the entire approach to business process management and greatly reduce the cost of operations.

Business Analysis Success (3.0)
9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 25, UNC Charlotte Center City

Version 3.0 of the “Business Analysis Body of Knowledge” emphasizes the importance of value creation in the role of the business analyst. The business analyst still must gather accurate requirements from business users. To maximize the positive impact of recommended solutions, the business analyst also must understand the strategic context for a given project and guide solution design. Success for the business analyst should be measured by the value an implemented solution adds for the organization and its customers.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Monday, Feb. 29, UNC Charlotte Center City

This course covers the Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools used to improve existing processes or design new processes. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to lead Lean Six Sigma projects to improve processes within their workplace. Included in the cost of this course is 30 minutes of project coaching each week for up to 13 weeks by a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. Upon completion of a DMAIC, DMADV or Lean project storyboard the student will be certified as a Green Belt.
