Flags across campus will remain at half-staff through Thursday in observance of the tragedy in Orlando.

“The extended UNC Charlotte community joins with institutions and individuals across the nation and around the world in support of the victims of Sunday’s tragedy, their families and the people of Orlando,” said Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Art Jackson.

“We reaffirm the special role of our public university to prepare well-rounded, lifelong learners who will lead in our communities and advance the ideals of diversity and inclusiveness, civil discourse and the peaceful resolution of conflict,” Jackson added.

Because of the nature of the apparently targeted Orlando attack, UNC Charlotte’s Counseling Center has made a special announcement urging UNC Charlotte students in need of support to reach out to the center for counseling services.
