‘Swing into Summer’ offers recreational classes for golf, tennis and 5K training

This summer, Recreational Services will offer a new learning series called “Swing into Summer” for UNC Charlotte faculty, staff and students who want to stay active while practicing new skills. Online registration is open for golf and tennis lessons and a Couch to 5K program. Classes are fee-based and not for University course credit.

“Many people tell us they would like to learn how to play tennis or golf — or train to run a 5K — but would prefer an informal educational experience as opposed to formally enrolling in the University and taking a class for a grade,” said Kemet Gatchell, assistant director for Sport Clubs with Recreational Services. “We wanted to offer classes that are open only to faculty, staff and students and are designed to be fun, reasonably priced and taught by qualified instructors.”
