Four UNC Charlotte alumnae, Susanne Dixon (’95), Joanna Gammon (’05), Heather Sharrett Kidwell (’12M) and Mary Ann Rouse (’80), were named to the 2017 Mecklenburg Times 50 Most Influential Women List and were recognized at a special event in May.
Rouse is vice president of financial services for Carolinas HealthCare System. Her professional and community commitments include membership in the HealthCare Financial Management Association, the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and membership in Leadership Charlotte’s Class XV. Rouse also is a member of the UNC Charlotte Board of Trustees. She graduated from the University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is a certified public accountant.
Gammon is a talent acquisition recruiter for Compass Group USA Inc. She currently serves on the UNC Charlotte Foundation Board and was an inaugural board member of the Charlotte Young Professionals. She also has been a member of the United Way Young Leaders. Gammon graduated from UNC Charlotte with a bachelor’s degree in business management.
Dixon is audit partner at KPMG's Charlotte's office. In 2011, she became the first female audit partner at KPMG in Charlotte. Dixon is chair of the Board of Directors at Susan G. Komen Charlotte, where she also served as treasurer and vice president. She graduated from UNC Charlotte with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and German.
Kidwell is vice president, Project Management Office manager at Wells Fargo. She serves on the Board of Directors for Girls on the Run Tri-County South Carolina. Kidwell took the lead to adopt the SoleMates program, developed by Girls on the Run International within the Tri-County council. The program creates a new, sustainable revenue stream for the organization. She completed a master’s degree in business administration from the University.
The 50 Most Influential Women event was created to spotlight and recognize the important role women play in the greater Charlotte region, in the economy and in society. The honorees represent the most influential women in business, government, law, education and not-for-profit fields. They are selected by a panel of independent business leaders based on professional accomplishment and community involvement within the Charlotte area.
