Get ready for a festival of fun
Fall break is approaching, and that coincides with an annual autumn tradition — the Staff Council Fall Festival.
This year’s festival is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 10, in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center.
“The Staff Council Fall Festival is our way to show staff members at UNC Charlotte how appreciated they are. Stop by for a free lunch, do a little line dancing, enter a contest – and just have some good old fun,” said Penny Stevens, chair of the UNC Charlotte Staff Council. “We are pleased to support this year’s Fall Festival charity, Room in the Inn, and we ask for small donations to benefit this important community organization.”
She added that individuals who make a donation will be entered in a raffle, and attendees should remember to bring their UNC Charlotte ID to enjoy the free lunch.
Donors are asked to select from the following to qualify for the raffle: scrubs (new or gently used), sleeping bags, tents, shaving cream, razors, aerosol deodorant, foot powder, HE detergent, dryer sheets, bleach, cough drops, ibuprofen and acetaminophen, adult underwear, men’s belts, wash cloths, reading glasses, backpacks (adult, new or gently used), welcome home kits or cash/gift cards (minimum of $5).
The Staff Council is organizing a bake-off, photography and craft contests and a scavenger hunt; prizes will be awarded. More information and registration details are on the web.
