Forbes magazine has ranked UNC Charlotte among the top 25 universities in the nation for providing the best value in higher education.
The University ranked 24th nationally due to an instate tuition of $5,873 and average out-of-state tuition of $18,402.
The Charlotte 49ers have scheduled a home-and-home series with James Madison University (JMU), beginning this coming season. Charlotte will play at JMU on Saturday, Sept. 21; game time is 6 p.m. The Dukes will play a return trip to Charlotte on Oct. 25, 2014.
Traffic lights have been installed at the intersection of Alumni Way and Cameron Boulevard. Once state approval is granted, the intersection will open officially to traffic in all directions. The newly installed traffic lights will flash in caution mode for approximately one week to alert the campus community and visitors to the change; signals then will transition into normal operation.
UNC Charlotte is joining with Classroom Central, Communities in Schools and WSOC-TV for the 17th annual School Tools Campaign.
School Tools is a drive to collect and distribute school supplies to children who need them. All supplies collected will be distributed through Classroom Central, a free store for teachers and Communities in Schools site coordinators.

The Charlotte 49ers will open its inaugural season on Aug. 31 as an FCS Independent for the 2013 and 2014 seasons before joining C-USA in 2015.

UNC Charlotte will offer its SAT Exam Prep starting at 1 p.m., Monday, July 29. Each 13.75-hour program covers the latest test-taking strategies and proven techniques for increasing SAT scores.
The Student Health Center (SHC) is one of two facilities to receive the 2013 Bernard Kershner Innovations in Quality Improvement Award from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
The Oliver Reagan Rowe Arts Building honors one of UNC Charlotte’s founding fathers. Completed in 1971, the 75,000-square-foot facility was constructed to house the-then departments of Performing and Visual Arts. The building’s focal point is an eight-sided theatre that seats 350. It also includes a recital hall, classrooms, offices, practice rooms and a large lobby-gallery.
