Volunteers needed for NCAA men’s basketball tournament

Friday, January 19, 2018

The Charlotte 49ers have a rich history as hosts for the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. This year, the 49ers will work with the city of Charlotte and Spectrum Arena to provide the best experience possible for participants and attendees to the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball First and Second Rounds in March.

“We are looking for great people to be ambassadors and support hospitality needs during Championship Weekend. Beginning Thursday, March 15, and running through Sunday, March 19, there are multiple dates and shifts available for all interested volunteers,” said Kim Whitestone, executive associate athletic director. “Please keep in mind, all volunteers are required to be 18 years of age or older, to volunteer for at least two shifts and to attend a training session. Volunteer opportunities are not inside the arena, so volunteers will not have access to the games. Each volunteer will receive the official NCAA volunteer apparel package (T-shirt, pullover and hat).
