Amy Stonger is headed to Minneapolis for Super Bowl LII — and to every Super Bowl through 2048.

Early in the football season, Stonger, who graduated from UNC Charlotte in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in biology and has returned for the Ph.D. program in bioinformatics, texted a code on a case of beer to enter Bud Light’s Super Bowl Tickets for Life Sweepstakes — and won.

“Attending a Super Bowl has been a lifelong dream,” she said. “Never in my wildest dream did I expect to win; it was by far the most exhilarating moment of my life.”

With four tickets in hand, Stonger will share the first of her annual prizes with her boyfriend, his father and his aunt. The New York native, who now lives in Gastonia, grew up watching the New England Patriots with her brother. While she’ll certainly be cheering for quarterback Tom Brady and the rest of his team on Sunday, she admits a long time loyalty to the New Orleans Saints, initially drawn to the team’s colors and eventually by their underdog tenacity.

“If I’d grown up in North Carolina, I’d be a diehard Panthers fan,” she said. “But I bleed black and gold.”

Excited to share the Super Bowl experience with as many friends and family as possible, Stonger has a list of people to invite over the coming years.

“Going to one Super Bowl is priceless but going to the next 30 is unfathomable; I’m hoping to take as many people as I can.”
