The federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act made changes to the tax law, including changing tax rates and brackets for employees. UNC Charlotte implemented the new tax tables with the Feb. 15 payroll.
With the changes to the tax law, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is encouraging everyone to use its updated withholding calculator to perform a quick “paycheck checkup” to ensure withholding is correct for tax year 2018.
If changes need to be made, University employees should complete a new 2018 Form W-4 through Banner Self-Service. Information on how to submit a Form W-4 is available in this FAQ.
