Annual Career Fair and Inclusivity Mixer connect students, employers

As the University’s enrollment continues to grow, so does the presence of employers seeking talented prospects. At this fall’s Career & Internship Fair, representatives from 210 employers are expected.

More than 30 new employers will be in attendance, including Eli Lilly, Honda, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, John Deere-Hitachi and Volvo. Employers at the fair have 5,000-plus full-time jobs, internships and co-ops available, including roles as technical writers, environmental scientists, police officers, business analysts, media interns, sports marketing interns and graphic design interns.

The Career & Internship Fair is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 21, in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center. Students and alumni from UNC Charlotte and other colleges/universities are welcome to attend this event. Faculty and advisors may want to attend for employer networking and information gathering.

The event is free for job seekers and faculty/staff. Based on employer request, professional dress is required for everyone.

The Inclusivity Mixer, now in its third year, will precede the career fair. In partnership with the newly formed Office of Identify, Equity and Engagement, the Career Center hosts this annual event to connect students with employers who have a commitment to inclusion. Students of all identities can network with 40 organizations at this event, which will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, in the Popp Martin Student Union.
