UNC Charlotte ranks among best employers in North Carolina by Forbes
UNC Charlotte once again was named to the “2023 America’s Best Employers by State” list by Forbes, which released its rankings in August. The University is the 28th best employer in North Carolina, moving up 16 spots from 2022.
For the ranking, Forbes and market research company Statista surveyed 70,000 workers at companies with a minimum of 500 employees nationwide. The survey asked them to assess their employers based on potential for development, compensation, diversity, working conditions, company image and more. Survey participants were asked if they would recommend their employer to others, and how they would rate other employers.
“As this region’s public research university, UNC Charlotte is well known for the opportunities we create for our students,” said UNC Charlotte Chancellor Sharon L. Gaber. “It is great to see UNC Charlotte recognized as a great place to work. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our employees and the intentional efforts on behalf of campus leaders, faculty and staff to build a thriving culture.”
UNC Charlotte has 3,700 permanent faculty and staff. The University offers comprehensive benefits programs, flexible work options and professional development opportunities.
Other UNC System universities joining UNC Charlotte on the list are North Carolina State, UNC Chapel Hill, Western Carolina University, UNC Greensboro and East Carolina University. UNC Charlotte also joins several Charlotte-based companies on the list, including Duke Energy, Atrium Health and Bank of America.
Forbes also recently placed UNC Charlotte on its America’s Top Colleges for 2023 list, which ranks the top 500 colleges and universities based on student success, return on investment and alumni influence. According to the magazine, it evaluated thousands of U.S. colleges for its ranking.
