20 years later: Remembering 9/11
A community of Niner Nation first-responders and UNC Charlotte's own ROTC battalion will participate in a stair climb at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 11, to mark the 20th anniversary of the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil, referred to as 9/11.

- The Emerging Leaders program is a UNC Charlotte tradition founded in 1980 that offers a select group of Charlotte students the opportunity to develop leadership skills while making friends and having a great time. Emerging Leaders is seeking first-time, first-year students who are committed to getting involved on campus, want to meet other new students and are interested in personal growth! If you are one of these students, apply by Thursday, Sept. 30. Faculty and staff can nominate students who they think would make a great fit by Tuesday, Sept. 21.
- The football event parking and traffic management plan will be in effect all day Saturday, Sept. 11. Learn more about game-day parking and transportation. Expect high traffic volume, restricted parking and restrained movement around campus from 2 to 10 p.m.

Campus testing location changes
Effective Monday, Sept. 13, campus testing will take place in the Popp Martin Student Union, SoVi and EPIC. Testing will no longer be offered in Atkins Library or the College of Health and Human Services. Detailed testing information can be found on the Niner Nation Cares website.

- Reducing incidents of interpersonal violence at Charlotte will require a community of engaged and proactive bystanders. Coordinated by the Center for Wellness Promotion, Green Dot is a violence prevention strategy designed to mobilize students, faculty and staff to engage in bystander intervention. Faculty and staff are invited to participate in an upcoming Green Dot training on Wednesday, Sept. 22, from 2 to 3 p.m. to learn more about their role in preventing violence. In this training, faculty and staff will learn skills to identify warning signs, personal barriers to intervention and realistic intervention options. Registration is required through the Learning and Development Portal. Log in and search for “Green Dot.”

Charlotte defends undefeated title at home against Charleston: The Charlotte 49ers women’s soccer team made an explosive charge to start the first half by jumping out to an early 2-0 lead. They would go on to add one more goal in the second half to take home a 3-1 win on Thursday, Sept. 9.
