Researchers at UNC Charlotte’s Belk College of Business are at the forefront of studying tenets of ethical leadership to foster better decision-making skills.

The new year could bring a resurgence for North Carolina’s economy, which took a historic hit this spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to John Connaughton, director of the Barings/UNC Charlotte Economic Forecast.   

UNC Charlotte’s School of Data Science, North Carolina’s first undergraduate program in data science, is now enrolling undergraduate students for the fall semester.

A new podcast mini-series is pulling the resources and partners of UNC Charlotte to help Queen City businesses weather the financial storm brought on by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Charlotte Business Buzz, which launched recently with five episodes, features one-on-one interviews with UNC Charlotte researchers, experts who advise businesses and alumni who are driving business in the Queen City. 

After seeing a drop in April and May due to the COVID-19 pandemic, single-family home sales in the Charlotte region are surging back, according to an update from UNC Charlotte’s Childress Klein Center for Real Estate (CKCRE), part of the Belk College of Business.

In it, Earnhardt Miller, daughter of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt and a businesswoman in her own right, offers important lessons for being successful in business. But writing “Drive: 9 Lessons to Win in Business and in Life” also helped Earnhardt Miller heal as it forced her to delve into her complicated relationship with her father, which shaped her as a businesswoman.

Just three months ago, the United States was seeing its longest economic expansion on record, a period of growth that started in 2010 and continued through February 2020.
