Summer blood drive will help save lives

Keith Wassum, associate vice chancellor for business services, is an advocate for University-hosted blood drives. On Thursday, June 20, the American Red Cross will be in the food court area of Barnhardt Student Activity Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and he is urging faculty and staff to join him in donating.

Temporarily closure of Lot 26 scheduled

Parking Lot 26 will be unavailable from Sunday, June 16, through Friday, June 21, for lot repair and resurfacing.

Expect barricades and construction personnel in the area; remember to exercise caution when approaching construction zones.

PPS receives crisis intervention award

Dedication, service and courage—these were the three words stressed by Ebony Rao of the Mecklenburg County Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) regarding the UNC Charlotte’s Police and Public Safety Department, which received an award for its actions taken on April 30.

Bolick needs shared leave

Deborah Bolick, Research and Economic Development, needs shared leave donations. The Benefits Office will accept donations through June 20.

To contribute leave, faculty and staff should refer to the requirements and participant forms in Personnel Information Memorandum (PIM) 29 or in the literature racks outside of the Benefits Office, King Building, Room 207. Re-striping of Union Deck scheduled

Between Sunday, June 9, and Friday, June 14, areas of the Union Deck will be closed temporarily to emable the re-striping of parking spaces.

Expect work crews and equipment throughout the deck; remember to exercise caution when approaching work areas.

EAP counselors will be on campus in June

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counselor from ComPsych will be onsite one day each week during the month of June to meet with employees.

Services will be available 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 7, 14, 20 and 28, in King Building, Room 201A. Appointments are not required.

Lot 29 to close temporarily

Parking Lot 29 will be closed from Sunday, June 2, through Friday, June 7, for repairs and improvements to the surface.

Expect barricades, asphalt trucks and construction personnel in the area.
