Special leave awarded by N.C. General Assembly now available

The N.C. General Assembly recently awarded a one-time additional five days of Special Annual Leave Bonus to eligible leave-earning employees in the state effective July 1, 2018. Those working less than 12 months and those in part-time positions will earn a pro-rated amount of time.

Eligible employees will receive an email notification from the Office of Human Resources and will see the balance reflected in Kronos, the University’s timekeeping system, as of Aug. 1, 2018, retroactive to July 1. It is listed as BONSAL.

Be air aware, join the Clean Commute Challenge

The hot, windless days of summer can cause air quality to decrease, which indicates a greater exposure to airborne pollutants. During the month of August, Charlotte citizens are being challenged to do their part to reduce the amount of pollution in the air.
Beginning Wednesday, Aug. 1, N. C. Air Awareness, in partnership with Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) and Sustain Charlotte, is hosting the Clean Commute Challenge. Participants are asked to avoid single-person-per-vehicle commutes during the month, helping make the air cleaner.
