University researchers partner with Gaston County health officials on groundwater quality project

UNC Charlotte researchers and the Gaston County Department of Health and Human Services have created the Gaston Water Map, a website with tools that map known groundwater quality in the county. The site also provides resources on best practices households can use to understand their well water quality.

Researchers from Yale School of Public Health and UNC Charlotte have an answer regarding the uncertainty as to how long COVID vaccine protection lasts, and when it might be necessary for individuals to get an additional booster shot.

Strong protection following vaccination is short-lived.

The researchers’ study is the first to quantify the likelihood of future infection following natural infection or vaccination by the Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson or Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines. The findings were published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
