Fashion show seeking participants
Organizers of the “Statement Making Fashion Show” seek students, faculty and staff members to make and/or model a garment or accessory created by utilizing fabrication equipment in either the College of Computing and Informatics Makerspace Lab or the Rowe Arts Fabrication Lab.
Both labs house 3D printers, laser cutters, milling machines and other equipment to fabricate fashion show items.

Craig needs shared leave

One entrance to Cone Deck to close temporarily
The entrance to Cone Parking Deck from Lot 7 (on the Belk Gym side) will be closed from 7 a.m., Monday, April 3, through Thursday, April 20, to upgrade parking equipment.
The Cone Deck 2 entrance (next to the Cone University Center) will remain open. Expect construction barricades, lane closures and the re-routing of traffic on the interior of the deck.
Exercise caution when approaching construction areas.
Second-year survey seeking students’ perception of campus climate
One in four women report being assaulted during their time in college, impacting their emotional and physical health and academic success.
Federal and state governments have prioritized the implementation of campus safety surveys to get an accurate understanding of student experiences with violence and harassment.
UNC Charlotte is collaborating with the University of Kentucky for the second year to implement a campus safety survey to all undergraduate students aged 18-24.
Protections and responsibilities under FMLA
Employers have a responsibility to make employees aware of their rights under the federal Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
FMLA provides employees up to 12 weeks of unpaid job protection, based on eligibility, for authorized medical, compelling family and certain military reasons. Employees may be able to use their eligible leave (including sick, vacation, bonus and voluntary shared leave) concurrently while approved for FMLA to remain in a paid status.
Earth Month activities will help make the campus greener
A tree planting, the spring Campus Cleanup and an Earth Day Festival are just some of the activities planned by UNC Charlotte’s Sustainability Office to encourage the University community be become more aware of and involved in environmental issues.
Duke researcher to talk ‘Food and Precision Medicine’
Kristin Newby, a professor of medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Duke University Medical Center, will present “Food and Precision Medicine in the Context of the MURDOCK Study” at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, in Cone University Center, Room 113.
