Professor’s book responds to April 30 shooting

On April 23, Andrew Hartley, the Robinson Distinguished Professor of Shakespeare Studies in the Department of Theatre, will have his 23rd book, “Impervious,” published.Hartley is an internationally respected Shakespeare scholar and an expert, in particular, on Julius Caesar. Outside of academic circles, though, he is better known as A.J. Hartley—or in some cases Andrew Hart—a New York Times best-selling author of mystery, thriller and fantasy novels for children and adults.

McEntire accepts vice chancellorship at UNC Greensboro

Tina McEntire ’91, ’95 MPA, associate provost for Enrollment Management, has accepted the position of vice chancellor for Enrollment Management at UNC Greensboro.

Elevator historian authors 200th article for trade publication

Lee Gray, architectural historian and senior associate dean for academic advising in the College of Arts + Architecture, has published his 200th article for Elevator World magazine, a leading international trade journal for the vertical transportation industry. Gray began writing a monthly column in 2003.

Roberts needs shared leave

Linda Roberts, Recycling, needs shared leave donations. The Benefits Office will accept donations through April 15.To contribute leave, faculty and staff should refer to the requirements and participant forms in Personnel Information Memorandum (PIM) 29 or in the literature racks outside of the Benefits Office, King Building, Room 207. Deadline for SHRA self-appraisal extended to April 10

In light of changes that have occurred in the past few weeks, Human Resources has extended the deadline for SHRA employees to complete their self-appraisal from the original deadline of March 31 to April 10, 2020.To complete the self-appraisal, SHRA employees can access NinerTalent via their mobile phones, tablets or computer as long as they have internet access. This step in the appraisal process must be finished to allow supervisors to complete their appraisal of their employees’ performance.

CoA+A faculty receive Arts & Science Council grants

Seven faculty members in the College of Arts + Architecture have received 2020 Regional Artist Project Grants from the Arts & Science Council. These grants provide an award for individuals and groups of unincorporated artists to pursue projects that further enhance their artistic development by attending a professional development experience or purchasing/renting a piece of equipment.
