For more than 50 years, UNC Charlotte and Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) have partnered to meet workforce needs of the region.
The Passport Program is one of the latest ways. The academic transfer program bridges gaps that might occur between CPCC’s two-year workforce development academic programs and its urban research partner, UNC Charlotte.
“Tears of the Jaguar,” the latest adult thriller by Andrew Hartley, Robinson Professor of Shakespeare Studies in the Department of Theatre, is scheduled for release, Tuesday, Sept. 4.

The Lona-Frey Collection, representing 43 works by some of the most important American artists of the 20th century, will open to the public on Saturday, Aug. 4, at UNC Charlotte Center City.
The UNC Charlotte Solar Decathlon team will present its solar house design to the public at 4:00 PM, Monday, Sept. 17, at UNC Charlotte Center City. The design is for the 2013 U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon, an international competition that will be in Irvine, Calif., in October 2013.
Effective Tuesday, Aug. 21, Jeanette Sims will be director of community affairs in the Division of University Advancement.
Her primary responsibility will be to direct programs and initiatives in support of UNC Charlotte’s mission as it strives to address the cultural, economic, educational, environmental, health and social needs of the greater Charlotte region.
Working with college students and their distinct issues can be exciting and challenging, said Gene Edwards, a licensed psychologist with the University’s Counseling Center.
